If you're looking for a new restaurant to spice up weekend plans, you might not have to look too far.

America's Taco Shop, a Phoenix-based restaurant that signed a major franchising deal in October, came in No. 2 on Nation's Restaurant News' list of the hottest breakout restaurants for 2013.

According to Phoenix Business Journal, the publication gave America's Taco Shop such a high rating because the magazine felt "the concept, which is positioned in the fast-casual category, finds itself in a market ripe for growth."

Fox Restaurant Concepts' Scottsdale-based True Food also made the list, coming in at No. 45.

    one at University and Rural in Tempe. There are several around the Valley, including near downtown. I don't mind the spartan setting, and the food is decent. Rosita's on East McDowell has been getting my business for decades, though.

    NOT one of the best Taco Shops out there. Tacos are too small....(Must've used a zoom lens for that picture!) 3 bites per taco at $2.25/taco = RIP OFF! I ordered a burrito there and it was the size of a taco at any other Taco Shop. If you want REAL tacos try LA CONDESA, LOS COMPADRES or LA TORTECA! Even Two Hippies does it better than America's.

    has the best real carne asada in my opinion. Also like their enchilada sauce the best too. Their salsa is pretty good too for a mild salsa, lots of garlic and cilantro. I don't think that this new breakout is better than Moreno's, in any fashion.
