TUCSON, Ariz. -- A Sells man has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison for a 2009 fatal stabbing on the Tohono O'odham reservation in southern Arizona.

Prosecutors said Jalen Michael Montana, 36, was convicted of killing Otis Wilson at a New Year's Eve dance on the reservation.

They said Montana and the 17-year-old victim were members of rival gangs.

Authorities said that Montana and Wilson had a brief confrontation earlier in the night and that Montana later approached Wilson on the dance floor and stabbed him twice in the chest.

Montana fled and was arrested in May 2011. He pleaded guilty to one count of voluntary manslaughter last September.
