PHOENIX -- President Barack Obama is expected to lay out his vision on immigration reform Tuesday in Las Vegas, and nearly a dozen members from a Valley immigrants' rights group will be in attendance.

"We want to send a message to the president that we believe there needs to be comprehensive immigration reform that does include a pathway to citizenship," said Otoniel Navarette with Promise Arizona.

Navarette hopes lawmakers will join forces to come up with a strategic plan to help the estimated 11 million undocumented immigrants living in the U.S. today.

"They are embedded in the fabric of our communities," he said. "We really need to treat them like human beings and give them a path to citizenship, a pass to work legally and the opportunity to get educated."

    That
would be an ILLEGAL INVADERS rights group. We need to be clear that there is a difference between someone who immigrates legally and someone who snuck into the USA.

    Throughout history immigration has
been an issue worldwide. During times of plenty, people want immigrants. But during hard times they don't. That's the problem. If we keep saying, come here illegally, live here awhile and get amnesty that only encourages more to come here while thumbing their nose at all those who followed the law in immigrating. Fix your own country or try going to China, Russia, N. Korea, etc and try this BS.

    Obama, 4 years ago . . .
promised to resolve this dire issue. Instead he did nothing, and it festered. So Rubio and other GOP stepped up and presented a plan that is hailed across the board, and ready for Congressional vote. In walks Obama, with . . . surprise! . . . an immigration plan. I wonder where he got that? And I wonder what incited him to bring it up after so long? Its like the no-show employee who is replaced with a high achiever after weeks of absence, and then suddenly shows up to announce his return. Sorry. We already have a better solution. Time to fix our country and start imprisoning
the employers of illegal immigrants. This problem will never end so long as those who induce illegal immigration continue to do so without penalty. Farmers are estimated to employ about 2.5 million illegal workers annually. What say we string up a few citrus and lettuce farmers in the public square as a way to get the message across that we are serious about addressing the root causes of the problem.

    Micho condones violence
toward the people who hire illegal immigrants by stringing up farmers who hire illegals in a public square. One question, are they strung up along side the illegal immigrants who also have broken the law too or will you be like our President and pick and choose the laws to follow?

The people who have been condoning violence
towards illegal immigrants for years on this on this board without your objections can address that point. I say that farmers and their collusive family members are one big source of the problem that everyone has been complaining about, but about whom the complainers turn a blind eye.

    more regressive logic?
Brilliant micho, lock up the employers and reward the lawbreakers. Where have I heard this (lack of) reasoning before? (sarcastic rhetorical question) I have to give you credit for being consistant.

    The employers are lawbreakers.
How is it that that doesn't register with you? No mention in my post of rewarding other lawbreakers.

    I don't believe I have condoned violence
against anyone on here Micho unless it was against some rapist, child molester or killer. And I have said things to others that wish violence upon illegals on here numerous times. You must be too blind to see it when someone on the other side of the aisle actually agrees with you. I'm all for cracking down on businesses but I'm also for enforcing current laws that work when enforced.
