Tucson man pleads guilty to 1st-degree murder
TUCSON, Ariz. -- A Tucson man has pleaded guilty to first-degree murder as part of a plea agreement that ensures him a chance at parole.
Pima County prosecutors say 20-year-old Gabriel Israel Soliz entered his plea Thursday.
The Arizona Daily Star says Soliz will be sentenced to life in prison on March 25 with release possible after he serves 25 years.
Soliz was facing a potential sentence of life in prison with no chance at release if he had gone to trial and been convicted.
Authorities say Soliz admitted to repeatedly stabbing 23-year-old George Soto on Feb. 14, 2011.
