YUMA, Ariz. -- Authorities said they are looking for a man who escaped custody after being transferred from the Yuma County Detention Center to municipal court for an appearance.

Yuma police said Raul Dominguez, 28, escaped earlier this week. They said 911 calls were received Tuesday reporting a man in a jail uniform and restraints in an area of the city, then the suspect stole a car from a woman.

Later that day, he was spotted by U.S. Border Patrol agents but Dominguez got away on foot. He is described as a Hispanic male, 5 feet, 6 inches tall, weighing about 134 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and tan pants.

Authorities said he should be considered dangerous.
