POCOMOKE CITY, Md. -- A Maryland armor manufacture developed a handheld white board for teachers that also doubles as a bulletproof shield.

According to USA Today, the white board measures 18-by-20-inches and weighs 3.75 pounds, making it easy to use in the classroom as a teaching tool but large enough to cover most of the body if needed.

"As teachers are doing their daily lesson plans, it's in their hands. And if there's a crisis, it's in their hands," Tunis said. "Teachers are not first responders, but sometimes they're thrust into that role."

Tunis, CEO and chairman of Pocomoke City-based Hardwire donated 90 white boards, valued at $20,000, to Worcester Preparatory School, the Berlin school where he sends his children.

    Should have bought guns
$20,000 could have purchased 20 Glock handguns and provided firearm training for 20 teachers. If a deranged, homicidal whack-job enters your childs school, would you prefer 20 teachers armed and trained with handguns, or 90 teachers covering themselves as they run for their lives while they take incoming fire along with your children that have zero protection? Which might provide the better deterrent? Gun control is like trying to prevent drunk driving by making it harder for sober people to buy or own cars. Idiots.
