PHOENIX -- Arizona Attorney General Tom Horne plans a news conference to discuss how his agency and others helped a 26-year-old woman and her six children leave a polygamist sect along the Utah-Arizona border.

The Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is one of the nation's largest polygamist communities and is based in the border towns of Hildale, Utah, and Colorado City, Ariz. The group's jailed leader, Warren Jeffs, is said to still be controlling the sect from behind bars in Texas. Jeffs is serving a life sentence after convictions on child sex and bigamy charges.

The news conference set for Tuesday afternoon is scheduled to include Ruby Jessop, who fled the sect, along with Mohave County officials.

I guess the polygamists and the......
man and his dog, or the man and the sheep, just don't have the numbers to get it legal to have many wives! (and then of course all the children for the public to support, and all the confusion and jealousy amoung wives and children) The further we part from the perfect plan, the worse things get!
