He's not sorry he's rich, but golfer Phil Mickelson has apologized for hinting that he would retire because taxes are hurting him, according to the Golf Channel.

"Finances and taxes are a personal matter and I should not have made my opinions on them public. I apologize to those I have upset or insulted and assure you I intend to not let it happen again," the onetime Arizona State University star said in the statement released Tuesday.

The California native is No. 7 on Forbes' list of highest-paid athletes at $47.8 million a year.

Mickelson had told reporters that "... I happen to be in that (tax) zone that has been targeted federally and by the state. It doesn't work for me right now, so I'm going to have to make some changes."

He had also said the reason behind his thinking was "what's going on the last couple of months, politically."

don't apologize to anyone because you make money. That is what this country is founded on; FREE ENTERPRISE. Everyone needs to voice to Washington our disapproval about higher taxes. It is ridiculous. It is time for another TEA PARTY. Let's clean house in Washington and start over.

    I like that he
apologized for sharing his opinions but he didn't apologize for what his opinion actually is. It is really sad that free speech exists less and less today because the left wing media gets people riled up when it's something they don't agree with.

I was glad Phil voiced his opinion. The tax issue is out of hand with people wanting to take from the ones that have earned it and support the ones that are lazy. No wonder Phil's golf game has lagged a little lately, it is from all of the added weight he is carrying supporting so many others.

    Rhetoric of Failure
Right now we have over 90 million people living off the taxes of just over 110 million people and our dear leaders would have us think that they are doing it because it is a moral issue to care for those who don't want to work. Socialism and communism never works. The governor and most of the leadership of California is a microcosm of what is really wrong with our country and our Federal leadership is the result of the mental disease called progressivism/liberalism. It is the rhetoric of failure and will lead us to a total economic collapse.

    Mickelson is not alone
California has roughly 35,000 people making at least a million dollars. Many have realized being taxed to death for mismanagement is not fair nor will it fix the problem. Therefore they are either leaving or planning to leave and rightfully so. The mindset of the Left is just plain nutty.

    The Anti American Progressives
demonize anyone not willing to pay "their fair share." Which is well beyond the imagination of actual fair share. They believe that the money belongs to the Government and we are just lucky to keep what we get.
