Temperatures are starting to creep back up, which normally signifies the beginning of the end of the ski season.

However, Arizona Snowbowl in Flagstaff is celebrating its new snowmaking technology, which was implemented this year.

"We've been extremely pleased with the quality of snow we are able to produce," said Snowbowl General Manager J.R. Murray in a release. "Our experienced groomers are then able to move that snow around the ski runs, maintaining highly desirable, consistent conditions."

The resort deploys 25 snowmaking guns that produce enough snow overnight to cover a one-mile stretch of Route 66.

    Quality Snow?
I was always taught that yellow snow is something to stay away from. The fake snow has been a disgusting shade of yellow. I find it funny that Murray is trying as hard as he can to hide that fact even though it has been covered by the New York Times and even News channel 12 down in Phoenix. Shame on you KTAR for pandering so badly.

Snow was yellow because of rust.
Obstructionist delayed the snow making instillation so long that there was rust in the pipes that colored the snow when it first started. So the obstructionist jumped on that as though the color was caused by urine not by rust which was caused by them. Don't pay any attention to people like Rudy who continue to try and obfuscate the truth.

    I too observed the color
of the snow on Monday and was wondering the same thing. Rust is a good reason as to the appearance of the snow. The top was choppy and Spring like already. I hope Snowbowl will invest in more machines. The bottom part was great but can not pay those prices to ski on bunny slopes. Let's pray for a big Winter storm or they are toast for the season. Peace

    Snow Conditions & Color
I have to say that the snow color is very unappetizing. I’m in agreement with the prev comment in that I hope they invest in more coverage for next season. The whole top 1/2 of the resort was beyond disappointing. So much of it is roped/coned off it leaves their best run so unappealing that it was not worth bearing the painfully slow lift. This coupled with ticket prices exceeding that of Sunrise I doubt I will venture there again anytime soon. I do have to give them credit, however, for their park. With a multitude of jumps, rails, table tops, etc it is by far the best in the state.
