Fresh & Easy owners are unsure of keeping the neighborhood grocery store open.

According to Phoenix Business Journal the U.K parent company to Fresh & Easy, Tesco, is unsure of what it will do with its Phoenix-based stores in the current economy.

There are 24 Fresh & Easy locations across Phoenix, with a total of 199 locations across Arizona, Nevada and California.

    If Wal-Mart with the six smaller locations could not stay here, what makes the Brits think that they could do a better job! With Krogers doing remodels and other locations like AJ'S, they are doomed! I had a location close to my home, but they shut it down last year and I will not drive an extra five miles to the other two locations near me! By the way, wy would they place a location right next to a Krogers (Fry's) right by me???? K.I.S.S.!!!!!!

    It probably has something to do with the fact that Tesco is in huge trouble in the UK for having 30% HORSE MEAT in their GROUND "BEEF". Their announcement comes less than a week after authorities in Ireland and England released findings about the tested meat. The economy sucks, sure, but not enough to eat a horse!
