TEMPE, Ariz. — A car collided with a train in downtown Tempe on Thursday morning, closing University Drive west of Mill Avenue in both directions.
The driver of the car suffered non life-threatening injuries. Tempe Police said the driver went around the crossing gates at Ash Avenue.
The street closure lasted a couple of hours.
Tuesday is expected to be Phoenix’s last day under 90 degrees for a while, and the year’s first triple-digit temperatures could be here soon.
