TUCSON, Ariz. -- A Tucson couple accused of impersonating police officers has been sentenced to two years' probation.

Pima County prosecutors say 41-year-old Alan Eugene Wilson and 47-year-old Kristine Wilson also were ordered Wednesday to serve 40 hours of community service.

The Arizona Daily Star says the Wilsons were indicted on five felony counts each of impersonating a peace officer and pleaded guilty to one count.

The two were accused of wearing clothing and equipment similar to police officers on six occasions between December 2011 and June 2012.

In five of the incidents, authorities say Alan Wilson pulled motorists over using red and blue strobe lights he had installed on his Jeep and issued verbal warnings.

Authorities went to the Wilsons' home and reported finding handcuffs, pepper spray and police badges.
