Arizona death row inmate dies at hospital
PHOENIX -- A state prison inmate who was sentenced to death for killing two people at a Phoenix-area homeowners association meeting has died.
The Arizona Department of Corrections said 74-year-old Richard Glassel died Tuesday at Tempe St. Luke's Hospital from apparent natural causes.
On April 19, 2000 Glassel entered the board of directors meeting for the Ventana Lakes Property Owners Association and shot and killed two people and wounded three others.
Glassel was convicted of two counts of first-degree murder and multiple counts of attempted murder.
He had been incarcerated at a state prison in Florence.
