SURPRISE, Ariz. -- Maricopa County sheriff's officials said two teenagers were hurt when struck by a boulder that rolled down a hillside in the outskirts of the Phoenix area as they were hiking.

Sheriff's officials said a 15-year-old boy suffered a broken leg and that a 15-year-old girl had scrapes on a leg and a wrist.

The incident occurred Sunday along Goat Camp Trail near Surprise.

KSAZ reported that the teenagers were flown out by the sheriff's helicopter.
