Arizona man killed by truck was subject of investigation

TUCSON, Ariz. -- Authorities in Tucson said a man who appeared to step intentionally into traffic before being fatally struck by a pickup truck was a suspect in a criminal investigation.
Pima County sheriff's Deputy Tom Peine said he cannot elaborate on circumstances of Dimitre Thomas Makansi, 19, being a suspect in an investigation.
The Arizona Daily Star reported that witnesses told investigators that Makansi stepped in front of the pickup Wednesday.
Peine said investigators determined the driver was not at fault.
