A Guadalupe leader said his town does not want Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio's volunteer posse to patrol schools in his city.

Coucilmember Andrew Sanchez said the armed posse members are underqualified and may present a threat to the town.

"We cannot track them," he said. "We cannot hold them accountable for issues. If they decide to go out and commit crimes against our children, what are we going to do?"

Sanchez said Arpaio and his deputies have raised numerous controversial issues, including abuse of authority, racial profiling and tampering with evidence.

"We feel this is not the time or place for political posturing," he added.

Arpaio was quick to fire back against Sanchez's statments.

"He's using the politics," said Arpaio. "He's trying to throw in the racial allegations into this program and that is sickening. That is sickening for him to use kids and teachers for political reasons."

Our system is set up to rehabilitate
criminals and turn them back into society as productive members. Most of the American public is good with that…until it shows up in their backyard. The discrimination no one talks about towards those that have paid their debt to society and our trying to make a go of it honestly.

Nobody ever complained about the Posse's watching over the mall parking lots every Christmas. They deterred countless car break-ins, mugging's, car jacks, and your old lady getting b- slapped and having your Christmas presents stolen from her. I missed the story of the posse members abusing the kids coming and going from the movie theaters. Can you give me the link of the posse member that sodomized little Johnny in the parking lot. You are awesome at hyperbole and keep me laughing constantly.

You trust Arpaio's warped judgment, nokidding.
I do not. I think most posse members are honorable, well intentioned men. But certainly not all. They put themselves at the disposal of a publicity craving lunatic who has been a bane to much of the community. Like many other well intentioned men in self paid uniform have done, they follow the orders of a seriously flawed leader.

Untrained? Debatable. Criminal pasts and representing a law enforcement agency? Troubling.
