An El Mirage man was arrested Tuesday for allegedly trapping his neighbor’s dog.
According to police, Russell Files, 44, intentionally set traps to stop his neighbor’s 2-year-old Australian Cattle Dog from wondering onto his property, located on the 140000 block of N. 130th Ave.
The dog was caught in one of the traps and did extensive damage to its mouth while trying to chew its way out of the trap. The dog was treated at a local animal hospital.
Files was charged with felony animal cruelty.
The dog’s owner was cited for having a dog at large.
