Phoenix officer dragged for short distance after traffic stop

A Phoenix police officer was hospitalized after being dragged for a short distance by an SUV during a Tuesday traffic stop.
The unidentified officer conducted the traffic stop on the eastbound Interstate 10 near 32nd St. about 5 p.m. When the officer approached the vehicle, the driver placed the SUV into drive and began to leave the area.
The officer’s hand was trapped in the vehicle and he was dragged a short distance. He was hospitalized but is expected to be fine.
The suspect was described as being a Hispanic male between 18- and 24-years-old. He is still at large.
