Wounded Phoenix policeman feels 'pretty amazing'
PHOENIX -- A Phoenix police officer who survived being shot six times says he feels ``pretty amazing'' even though his jaw is wired shut and a bullet remains lodged in his back.
Peter ``Chris'' Bennett appeared at a Phoenix hospital news conference Tuesday. He's recovering from gunshot wounds to the right side of his face, his right hip and right arm.
The 36-year-old Bennett underwent surgery Monday. He was shot Sunday night when police say he approached a man on a bicycle in an area with a high burglary rate. The two exchanged gunfire and the suspect was found hiding in a shed and arrested.
KPHO-TV says 38-year-old Brandon McCabe remains hospitalized with gunshots wounds on both hands and bite wounds from a police dog.
Police say he's facing attempted murder charges.
