Phoenix police shot and killed a man overnight after he tried to back his car into two patrol cars after a road chase.

A 5-year-old boy in the back seat was uninjured. Police had been unaware there was a passenger.

The chase began near Interstate 17 and McDowell Road and ended near 27th Avenue and Van Buren Street.

Sgt. Trent Crump said officers fired at the vehicle when its driver twice accelerated in the direction of officers -- first after the driver slammed into the brick wall of a home, then changed directions and drove toward the second officer.

What happends when you shoot and kill a person who's hammer down on a vehicle? Answer: It doesnt stop until it hits something bigger. Seems like a real stupid policy to shoot a person in such a situation.

    Probly the kids dad
and shame on them for possibly killing a kid, known or unknown. Responsible gun owners don't jsut shoot in situations where there too many unknowns but somehow cops get the freedom to break the rules and laws they hold us to. It was a reckless, irresponsible shoot and I hope they loose their jobs.
