PHOENIX — A suspicious device found in the lobby of a Scottsdale bank Wednesday morning has been determined by authorities to be harmless.

Scottsdale Police are still investigating but said the package was discovered in the lobby of the Chase Bank at Dynamite Boulevard near North 101st Place at about 8:15 a.m. before business hours.

The building was evacuated.

According to police, the device had been taped to a table.

Mesa Police’s explosive ordnance disposal team was brought in to assist and by 1 p.m. officially ruled it out as a bomb.

The bank will remain closed until Thursday.
