Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton says he supports tighter gun restrictions and following the mass shootings in Colorado and Connecticut he believes Americans are ready for a change.

"We're not naive, we know it will take a lot more," he said Monday. "But it's part of the issue of these incredible instances of gun violence and tragedies resulting from that."

Stanton said he is behind several changes to gun laws in the coming year.

"We are supportive of assault weapons regulations, reducing high capacity ammo magazines and eliminating gun show loopholes."

Stanton also supports placing more police officers in schools as resource officers, not armed guards, and feels that addressing mental health care in America will help reduce mass shootings.

I've never said no one should own a gun.
Gun nuts like to catastrophize like a baby in tantrum. But even gun nuts believe in some level of regulation and they also believe that not every American citizen should own and handle a gun.

Mr Mayor, you DO NOT represent me,
you represent a sick part of society. Banning guns will not get you what you say you want, a safer society. You know this. Banning guns will give all the power to the government to abuse us as they wish. The 2nd Amendment is to protect us from a tyrannical government. How ironic, the government (you) are trying to end the means by which we protect ourselves from the government. How nice.

Hey Stanton, gotta mouse in your pocket? I believe that you meant to say that you are supportive of further regulations. You do not speak for me. Here are some basics for you, "mayor." Gun Control Defined: The theory that people who are willing to ignore laws against rape, kidnapping, theft, and murder will obey a law that prohibits them from possessing a firearm. Also, assault is an action, not a device.
Politically incorrect and proud of it.

Guns don't kill people and your SPOON did not make you fat! Being a Liberal does make you stupid though! It's not their fault. ;-)

    Done shopping.
I bought all the guns that I wanted over the holidays. Finding ammo was difficult though. They were restricting how much you could buy also. That is going to put a crimp on target shooting.

    Mr. Mayor
does this include your security detail? Make sure they give up their guns also. Most mass shootings occured in "Gun Free Zones" because the shooter knew the police were minutes away and they could inflict the most damage.
