PHOENIX -- The Phoenix Police Department are looking Sunday for a man who kidnapped a bank employee, held her hostage and then forced her to take part in an attempted robbery Saturday.

Police officials say the unidentified employee was taken from her home Friday, and then used as part of a robbery plot at a Bank of America near 48th Street and Ray Road. The suspect strapped an apparent bomb to her neck and sent her into the bank location.

Phoenix Police Sgt. Tommy Thompson says the woman was able to call police.

"Our bomb squad came and were able to remove the device and discovered it was not a bomb that it was a fake," Thompson said.

Police officials say the victim was not hurt in the robbery attempt and are not revealing how she came into contact with the suspect.
