Police: 2 brothers arrested in Yuma bank robbery
YUMA, Ariz. -- Authorities say two brothers are in custody in connection with a bank robbery in Yuma.
Yuma police say 25-year-old Jesus Alaniz and 21-year-old Nestor Alaniz both are being held in the Yuma County Detention Center on suspicion of robbery, burglary and theft.
Police say a man entered a Wells Fargo Bank branch about 10 a.m. Thursday and demanded money.
He was given an undisclosed amount of cash and fled on foot, but was arrested soon afterward.
Police identified the suspect as Jesus Alaniz. They say he was wanted in another case involving the theft of weapons and other property.
Investigators also say Jesus Alaniz identified his younger brother as being involved in the robbery and that led to his arrest.
Police didn't immediately know whether either man had a lawyer.
