The Geminid meteor shower is scheduled to peak on Thursday evening, but Valley residents will need some help from the weather to see it.

KTAR's Dr. Sky said Phoenicians may be able to see up to 100 streaks of light per hour, if clouds don't get in the way.

"Look high up into the northeast and then high into the sky, high into the east, all night long," he said. "The earlier you look into Friday morning, before sunrise, the better the chances."

Even if the weather does not cooperate, about one meteor per hour will be visible until the shower comes to an end on Tuesday.
