Imagine owning a piece of the historic Biltmore Hotel.

Veteran Valley electrician David Specht, of Cirtcele Electric said he can help make it happen. A few years ago, his company was selected to do upgrades to the ballroom, at which time he was able to salvage 15 custom wall sconces.

After holding on to the fixtures for some time, he's decided to make them available to the public. Each comes with a relatively hefty price tag of $500.

"They're unique, they're definitely unique," said Specht. "A lot of people come out just to golf and they can take one of these and hang it in their bar and say, 'This hung in the Biltmore and when I was a kid,'" he added.

The fixtures are large. Made of multicolored glass, they stand about 36 inches tall and are about 15 inches wide.

Are you guys (commenters) for real?
I guess people have nothing better to do than complain these days. I don't believe the average person selling crap on ebay or cl is newsworthy, but this is one of those rare opportunities to get something you couldn't otherwise get. Trust me, I get it that people don't want to read "non news" but I do believe this is valid. To each his/her own. (And I'm not looking for a debate; I work for a living, so I won't be coming back to defend this post. At least not any time soon.) Cheers!

is OK with a news agency giving out free advertising...not like that would ever lead to them not being impartial...I mean, afterall, if you can't trust your news agency who can you trust?

Impartial news media, that's so funny, thanks for the laugh but we lost that a loooooooong time ago. Look who Obama just met with in the news media to go over the fiscal cliff, yep, good old Obama telling them how to market is plan. Oh and I have seen ebay items make the news many times before, free advertising for them too!!! Grow up.

has difficulty recognizing sarcasm. Usually when items like this are for sell, and they get media attention, often times the proceeds are going to a worthy cause. This guy picked this stuff out of the trash during the demo, saved them for a few years, and now he needs money for Christmas. Charity begins at home, right? You are right, I don't have to read the story, and you don't have to read my comments.

    Oh I recognize sarcasm
just fine. The people I receive sarcasm from are good at it though. You miiiight want to work on yours so you can get better at it. It doesn't have to be at the level of mine and my friends but anything is better than the sarcasm you bring to the table. And I love ready the comments, the idiots on here never cease to amaze me. Oh, last thing, "items like this are for sell", should be "items like this are for sale". And that correction is coming from a guy who hardly knows English as a first language.

    Looks like OneWonders has
some insecurities in their intelligence. And you are right, I could never reach the same levels as you in intelligence or sarcasm, I can't force myself to go that low. As for my spelling and use of sell, re-read your post and see if you can find the mistakes that you made. Here's a clue, I love ready...? Me love you long time or what? Oh and miiiight, does that mean mighty?? My native language is Finnish, what's yours?

yrretaIf, you can't figure out what my
native language is after I stated it and gave credit at how bad it is, then you my friend, are more dumb than me. Allow me to give you a little hint, "English as a first language". Ok, that wasn't a hint but the answer because I knew you wouldn't be able to figure it out. Keep working on getting that intelligence and sarcasm higher than mine. Also, I have no insecurities with my intelligence, I just openly commented on how bad my English is in my last post and even in this one. I am not ashamed or insecure but please stop projecting your feelings as my own. Run along.
