Three people were injured Wednesday morning when a driver lost control of her car and crashed into a bus stop near 35th and Dunlap avenues.

Phoenix Fire Department paramedics treated at least one person for serious injuries.

The driver suffered minor injuries. Phoenix Police said the woman behind the wheel was lucid when they spoke with her.

Witness John Pulvino narrowly escaped getting caught in the accident. He said it sounded like an explosion when the car hit the bus shelter.

"I see the bus shelter up in the air, probably about 7 to 10 feet, and there was a man on top of it that was walking behind me with his wife.

"I see her bouncing off the front of the bus shelter at the same exact time that the shelter is coming down.

That car was like, accordioned up against that bus shelter. ... It was terrible."

    When
will people wake up that cars are dangerous. They run into other cars, buildings and bus stops injuring and killing thousands every year. We need to ban cars. The only ones that need cars are the police. No where in our Bill of Rights does it say anything about being able to own cars. And when I hear people say cars don't kill people, people kill people it makes me sick. Cars kill, ban cars.

    Ban cars? Really?
I'm sorry, I thought the comment read 'ban cars,' that can't be right, oh but it is. Wow, you know, if you want to limit your freedom, thats fine, but leave me out of it. I don't have to get into the details of how we've obtained and maintained this precious freedom, I hope you already know that drill. It's funny to hear what crazy ideas people come up with in order to solve a problem...If we go by your logic, when someone dresses cooler than you at work, we'll just ban the next thing on your list...Casual Fridays!

Keep an eye on the UN because the talk right now is punishing rich countries like the USA for global warming, caused by your vehicle. Watch out that our President doesn't throw away that precious freedom you are speaking of. Visit the UN's website and learn a little on Agenda 21.
