PHOENIX -- Authorities said a suspect is in custody in connection with a robbery and assault at a Phoenix home.

Phoenix police announced Tuesday that Andrew James Mathieson, 22, is jailed on a $25,000 bond.

He's being held on suspicion of robbery, aggravated assault causing serious physical injury, burglary, theft of a means of transportation and arson of a structure or property.

Police said a 76-year-old woman was watching television at her house around 4:15 a.m. Sunday when a man allegedly broke in and assaulted her until she lost consciousness.

When she awoke, she told authorities some of her clothing was removed and her purse and vehicle were missing.

Her car was later found partially burned and crashed into an embankment.

Police said evidence found near the vehicle led them to Mathieson.
