PHOENIX -- Arizona is appealing a court ruling against a new state law targeting Planned Parenthood.

At issue is the state's ban on public funding provided for Planned Parenthood Arizona for general health services that don't include abortion.

The state is asking the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals to overturn an Oct. 19 ruling on a lawsuit filed by the Planned Parenthood affiliate and a physician.

A preliminary injunction issued by U.S. District Judge Neil Wake keeps the state from implementing a new law that bars public funding for general health care services provided by abortion clinics and doctors.

Wake said the law conflicts with federal protections for Medicaid patients to choose their care providers.

Supporters of the law said it would ensure that no public money subsidizes abortion.

    Big Government Conservative Republicans

    Actually Michoacan
Not funding Planed Parenthood would be strides to a smaller government, you are way off again.

    Seriously People!
The irresponsible childish people will get abortions anyway, I have no problem giving them someplace safe for them. I have never stepped foot in PP but hopefully they educate the person about options and not just point them to the killing of babies.

The funds that the State sought to
block were not going to abortion services, but are meant for ordinary medical treatment. Conservative Republicans want to stop even those mundane but essential doctor/patient interactions at Planned Parenthood not for anyone's well being, but out of conservative "moral" rage, meanness and spite. I'm glad Judge Wake kicked them in the teeth. I hope the Appeals Judges do the same.

Like I said Micho, a smaller government.
And it is because of abortions (you are blaming the right wing after all so don't deny that) even if they target all of PP. Well abortions and worry about more liars in the organization that say they do more than they actually do to get more money from the government. And I wouldn't call it "moral" rage, meanness and spite, like you believe with not a speck of proof. After all I never heard a person on the right say vote out of revenge like our President did before the election. Sit down.
