TEMPE, Ariz. — The trout will make its annual Thanksgiving return to Tempe Town Lake on Tuesday.
Beginning at 3 p.m., Arizona Game and Fish will release thousands of rainbow trout into the lake. After the fish are unloaded, anyone can throw a line in the water.
“We will have 100 rods and reels for people to borrow for the event,” said Eric Swanson with Game and Fish. “We supply the bait and we have people to give tips on fishing.
Swanson said anytime is good to get children into fishing. A permit is not required for the event, which runs until 5 p.m.
The event is being held at the Tempe Town Lake Marina, located near College Avenue and Curry Street.
