CASA GRANDE, Ariz. — Pinal County deputies arrested three Mexican drug smugglers who tried to flee after a chase, including one who had been deported five times in the past two years.

Deputies discovered 270 pounds of marijuana that authorities say has a street value of more than $200,000.

The events began Monday after a resident called in a report of a red Buick that looked to be a smuggling vehicle. Deputies spotted the car a short time later and stopped it near Interstate 8 and Interstate 10 south of Casa Grande. As deputies approached the car, the car drove forward about 200 yards and three men fled into the desert.

With help of other deputies, the three men were captured nearby. All three were from Mexico.

And this is the same border the Obama administration keeps telling us is more secure than ever. If it was secure they would've been apprehended by Border Patrol and not PCSO. Immigration reform will be useless unless we can secure our border. Stories like this don't make their way into the news anywhere else in the country, unfortunately.
