PHOENIX -- Sheriff's officials in Maricopa County are looking for an inmate they say turned up missing from the county's Lower Buckeye Jail Sunday.

Sheriff's spokesman officer Christopher Hegstrom says Adan Orduno, Jr., was discovered missing just before 9 a.m. He's considered extremely dangerous.

The 26-year-old was last seen wearing the jail's black-and-white striped clothing. Hegstrom says jail officers are trying to determine if he escaped or is somehow hiding somewhere in the sprawling complex that includes Sheriff Joe Arpaio's tent city.

Orduno has served time in state prison for burglary, theft and aggravated assault. Maricopa County court records show his latest case was for promoting prison contraband.

    Misleading
Why say he has escaped in the title when the article says they don't if he has escaped? He's missing and could still be inside the complex. Yes, he may have escaped, but we don't know yet. We just need to be careful.
