John Painter. (Peoria Police Department)

A suspect that allegedly robbed a bank was arrested within 45 minutes of the incident, the Peoria Police Department said.

John Painter, 43, allegedly robbed the Sun West Federal Credit Union near 75th Ave. and Bell Rd. around 3 p.m. on Nov. 6. While robbing the bank, a teller wrote down information about the suspect, including a description of his vehicle.

Police used the information and located the suspect's vehicle in a nearby apartment complex about 45 minutes later, quickly placing Painter under arrest.

The description given by the teller linked Painter to a second robbery, which he admitted to, along with a third robbery.
