Now that the election is over and Obama is re-elected, voters are apparently expected to stock up on firearms.

Stocks plunged on news of President Barack Obama’s re-election, dropping the Dow by 245 points in the first hour of trading, according to a recent article published in the Deseret News.

But gun manufacturers have managed to avoid the drop.

Smith & Wesson Holding Corp., a firearms manufacturer, saw its stocks jump 10.8 percent to $10.48 per share in morning trading on Wednesday, according to the L.A. Times.

Sturm, Ruger & Co. also saw a 6.4 percent rise to $47.48 per share, which is a 39 percent increase since the beginning of 2012.

Consumers are expected to stock up on guns now that Obama has been re-elected, according to the LA Times.

No, it’s not because of anger. It’s because Obama has promised stricter gun restrictions during one of his presidential debates.

    By saying today he would back the UN small arms treaty. To me, this allows the UN to have an opportunity to overreach our constitution and control part of our country. Also you have Feinstein looking to bring back gun bans but worse than what she did in the 90's. And I've heard part of that is no grandfathered in weapons. So while gun ownership has been on the rise in recent years, crime nationwide has gone down. What do you think will happen with less guns in citizens hands?

    Lets just say that Hitler was a fan of disarming the citizens and we know how that ended. There is a reason why it is in our constitution. If Obama comes after our guns, I vote for impeachment.

    is to protect the individual from the only entity that could take away our inalienable rights, ie, speech, press, worship, privacy etc. And that we can lawfully protect those rights by force, hence the 2nd. The B of R isn't to protect us from our neighbor, who can not take away our inalienable rights. Enter "gun control". Taking away our arms, takes away our ability to stand against gov with force when it seeks to take our rights. The problem is that we have not excersized this right in the least degree. We allow incrimental trespasses and like others will repeat history.

    Obama's immigration policy promotes immigrants to cross into the USA the wrong way including terrorist. immigrants are not just from mexico they are from everywhere. It also promotes fraudulent documentations to show they meet his requirements. I must protect my family the president is endangering them.

    This isn't a left or right issue as you continue to try and divide people just like Obama tries to divide us as a country, this is about the Constitution of the United States of America which citizens should all stand up for. You just don't understand it because you have no love or respect for our country.
