Hay fire darkens skies over Phoenix

A plume of smoke stemming from a hay fire was visible in the skies over Phoenix on Wednesday.
The fire was reported about 4:45 p.m. near 67th Ave. and Baseline. Firefighters arrived on the scene and quickly contained the fire, though the large amount of hay may take some time to be fully extinguished.
Nearby residents were told to keep their windows closed.
No injuries have been reported and no structures were threatened.
It is unknown how the fire started.
