PHOENIX -- The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office says one of its deputies is in custody for an alleged aggravated assault in North Dakota.

Sheriff's officials announced Wednesday that 41-year-old Timothy Abrahamson was arrested without incident by deputies.

They say Abrahamson has been booked into the downtown Phoenix jail, where he'll be held in protective custody until his extradition to North Dakota.

Officials didn't release any details about the incident other that it allegedly occurred last month in Cass County and Abrahamson was wanted on a North Dakota warrant.

MCSO says Abrahamson has been a deputy for seven years.

I'm not seeing the connection between
aggravated assault and corruption. Poor hiring selection or bad training maybe, but corruption?
