PHOENIX — Phoenix police say a woman has been fatally shot by police responding to a report of a gunman and a hostage situation.

KTVK-TV reports that police officers shot the woman after she walked out of the house with a firearm. It was not immediately clear what led to the shooting.

Police say there was no hostage situation in the home and that drugs or alcohol could have been a factor. No charges are expected to be filed.

    They are factors in over 95% of the crimes, especially family disturbances.

    No Charges expected to be filed. Hmmmmm she is shot and killed not sure how they would press charges anyway

    I walk out of the house all the time with my firearm, am I going to be shot, too? There's got to be more to this story than just what is reported here.
