The Arizona Motor Vehicle Division has restored its computers after a Friday outage.

The MVD's computer system crashed Friday, pushing many services offline, according to Harold Sanders with the Arizona Department of Transportation.

However, there is still an alternative for customers.

"Information can be provided to a customer service representative," he said. "It's actually placed in a backlog -- the customer does not have to wait at the office -- and the transaction will be entered."

Sanders said the MVD's website, servicearizona.com is also being affected.

Sanders said the problem was in a mainframe computer.

The system was restored about 4:30 p.m.
