TUCSON, Ariz. -- A Tucson Fire Department spokesman said an early-morning fire at a University of Arizona dormitory was held in check by fire-sprinkler systems.
No one was injured.
Capt. Jeff Langejans said the fire in a large couch in a TV room was all but out when firefighters arrived at the Pueblo de la Cienega Hall at about 3:30 a.m. Friday.
More than 100 students were evacuating the building when crews arrived. University police told firefighters a fire sprinkler in the smoke-filled room was running.
