CAVE CREEK -- It wasn't all fun and games at Cave Creek's second annual Running of the Bulls event.

Of the nearly 700 participants who partook in a Southwest version of the long-standing Spanish tradition, only eight were injured Saturday during the festival's seven bull races.

According to MyFoxPhoenix, two of the eight injured required trips to the hospital. Although none of the injuries were considered serious or life-threatening.

    They didn't take place
In the long-standing Spanish tradition. They participated in the hillbilly knockoff. Please stop associating this mess with Pamplona's historic event.

    Yet another swell
Point. This farce is bullocks. There could havebeen a cool story/interesting angle here. But once again weak local journalism fails prominently and comes up with a flat zero in the interesting category. Are there any editors out there? KTAR's "journalists" could use some guidance.

Risk taking and thrill seeking come
come in many forms. Skydiving, scuba diving, racing fast machines, paintball, contact sports, rodeo. Some more injurious than others. So long as the participants know and accept the risks, and welcome the fun of it, the pooh poohers can go pooh pooh.

    Thing is, Mich . . .
. . . all participants do not, as you say, accept the risks and welcome it. When animals are pulled into the risk-thrill game for competitors to coerce, abuse or otherwise harass, it loses its cuteness. The notion that outrunning livestock is a thrilling accomplishment is funny, though.

I'm with you on that, 2.
Animal abuse is at its peak in many cruel man/animal competitions, bullfighting, rodeo events. This run leveled the playing field, so to speak.
