PHOENIX -- Gov. Jan Brewer says it's disturbing to learn of allegations of misconduct among Arizona National Guard personnel.

The Arizona Republic conducted a monthslong investigation into allegations of sexual abuse, recruiting improprieties, whistle-blower retaliation and other misconduct by Guard personnel.

Brewer says she'd known of several of the matters before they were reported by the Republic. But she says she was unaware of others until she read about them in the newspaper.

And she says she doesn't know whether someone failed to adequately keep her informed.

Brewer says she's launching an inquiry done to, in her words, ``get to the bottom of all of this.''

The governor is the National Guard's commander in chief.

Just say what Obama said: "No one told me." and the media will give you a pass. Whoops, you're a Republican, forget it.
