MARICOPA -- Authorities say a Maricopa man is in custody for allegedly firing at a car that carried his 1-year-old son.

Maricopa police say 27-year-old Eric Thomas Wright was arrested Monday. He's being held on suspicion of aggravated assault with a weapon, disorderly conduct with a weapon and endangerment.

Police say Wright became disorderly and was asked to leave a vehicle that was parked outside a restaurant.

They say Wright exited the car, allegedly pulled out a handgun and began hitting the driver's side window with the gun and pointing it at the driver.

Police say the driver tried to drive away and Wright allegedly fired one round at the car. There were no reported injuries.

They say Wright fled the scene, but was located nearby and arrested.
