MCSO arrests three on human smuggling charges

Three men were arrested Sunday on human smuggling charges, the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office said in a release.
Deputies were making a traffic stop when several people bailed from the vehicle as it came to a stop. Two of the suspects were immediately detained and a third was found nearby.
The other suspects managed to escape.
The three men detained by deputies said they had paid as much as $3,500 to be smuggled into California.
All three suspects were booked into the Fourth Avenue Jail on human smuggling charges.
