A Valley pollster said the newly-released jobs report could offset President Barack Obama's dismal performance in Wednesday's debate.

"The Republicans and Mitt Romney have made such a point of attacking the president because unemployment hadn't dropped below eight percent during his administration," said Michael O'Neil. "Well, it's below eight and they can't say that anymore."

O'Neil added that the new job numbers will work in the president's favor when he debates Romney for the second time on Oct. 16.

the country is on the road to recovery. Can't fix in 4 what took 8+. Easier to destroy than create.

    Yeah
These numbers confirm the economy is recovering. They should have a very positive effect on his campaign. The GOP doesn't want to hear this, they prefer the American people languish so they may regain control of this country. Imagine that, hope for the worst outcome and expect the best.

    Always Fishy Business
Economists know the BLS manipulates unemployment by artificially shrinking the workforce as much as possible to get the lowest possible unemployment figure and thus, unemployment figures are never worth the paper they are written on. It is entirely a political statement.

    numbers game
by doing nothing will reduce the unemployment rate. You only get 99 weeks of unemployment after that you no longer qualify so the number of people getting unemployment benefits will decrease. But the key is most people are not smart enough to know this. Those are the one who voted and will vote for the used car salesman, Obama. lol

    Its a Miracle!
Some will believe that these numbers are credible. Some will actually believe that after years of downward-spiraling employment, after an embarrassing debate highlighting failure to promote jobs, and with no apparent cause or change in economic conditions, a spike in employment miraculously, suddenly appeared 32 days before the election.

    Numbers were definitely skewed
Obama knows he will not be re-elected and he is grasping at anything. It is all a numbers game. I do agree it takes longer than 4 years to fix what has happened in the last 10 years BUT the goal is to work ourselves out of this mess not sit and stew. Growth is key and Obama has done everything but stop it.
