A 10-week-old Labrador retriever mix that survived being tossed from a car is up for adoption.

The Arizona Humane Society staff has nursed the female puppy, Mio, back from head trauma and contusions to her lungs. She was found in the Queen Creek area after a passerby saw a bag being tossed from truck window and noticed the bag moving after it was abandoned.

Mio will be available for adoption as part of National Adopt a Shelter Dog month. She'll be at the AHS Campus for Compassion at 1521 W. Dobbins Road, Phoenix, starting Wednesday at 11 a.m. Adoption fee is $160, which includes spaying, shots, a follow-up visit with a veterinarian, collar and ID tag.

For more information on Mio call (602) 997-7586, ext. 1045.
