A Phoenix man returned a free bike that was given to him after his was stolen in a robbery.

James Segall, whose only means of transportation is his bike, was robbed at gunpoint on Sept. 22.

"I was resting for a few minutes, got some water to drink then someone kind of came out of nowhere and pointed [a gun] at me," he said.

The suspect, 19-year-old Gonsalo Garcia Hernandez, allegedly took everything Segall had on him, including his bike.

When a Valley bike shop found out, they offered Segall a free replacement bike because "it was the right thing to do."

However, Segall's property, including his bike, was recovered when police arrested Hernandez and Segall returned the free bike he received.

KTAR's Sandra Haros contributed to this report.

    Would be nice
if the store still allowed him to keep the bike, for his honesty. It would be a tax write off for them.
