PHOENIX — Phoenix police say they've arrested a former math teacher at Brophy College Preparatory School on child molestation charges.

The Phoenix school fired 71-year-old Dan Whitehead in November after two former students came forward and said he had molested them in the 1980s. The students did not want to contact police.

Phoenix police investigated anyway and said Saturday they were able to find several adult males who said they were victims or witnesses to molestations by Whitehead in the 1980s. Police say Whitehead would invite students home, ply them alcohol and then fondle or try to fondle the boys.

He was arrested Saturday on a felony sexual assault charge, 2 felony counts of attempted sexual abuse and 6 other misdemeanor and felony charges.

It was unclear if Whitehead has a lawyer.

is 71. What are they going to do to him? If his health is good, at least could lock him up for 10 years or so. Besides that, it's too late to go after him.

    Victims
It's not always about how many years someone will spend in jail, it's about the victims feeling they received justice. Yes the perp is 71 - I have grandparents who are alive or lived well into their 90s. 20 years is a good sentence. Who wants to spend the remainder of their life in jail no matter how old? Again, it's about the victims and what they want/need - too bad we can't really do what all victims want.

Seems like everybody anymore wants to be a Jerry Sandusky spin off either that or a victim. I mean 1980 is ancient history. It's 2012! You do the math. Where do we draw the line?
