Sierra Vista man accused in sexual assault case
SIERRA VISTA, Ariz. - Southern Arizona authorities say a Sierra Vista man is in custody in connection with a kidnapping and sexual assault case.
Sierra Vista police say 37-year-old Jim Kagwanja Munene turned himself in to the Cochise County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday.
In January, a woman told police that she was sexually assaulted by a person she knew.
During the course of the investigation, Sierra Vista police detectives were able to establish sufficient probable cause to secure a grand jury indictment.
A warrant was issued for Munene's arrest. Authorities didn't immediately know Wednesday whether he had a lawyer yet.
