PHOENIX — Democratic National Committee Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz has given a pep talk to volunteers staffing a Phoenix phone bank for President Barack Obama's re-election campaign

Schultz planned to tell volunteers at Saturday's evening's event that the president's policies have added 4.5 million jobs in the past 29 months. She planned to share his plan to focus on creating a strong middle-class and what she called an economy built to last.

Democrats have said they think they can be competitive in Arizona even though the state hasn't voted for a Democratic presidential candidate since Bill Clinton in 1996.

Republicans have called such talk a "mirage" and pointed out that Arizona is solidly in the red column.

Schultz is a congresswoman from Florida who is close friends with former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords.

    Did
these same staffers also win a nobel for answering the phones in the 2008 election? Luckily we have caller ID so we don't have to answer these calls.

"Pep Talk"??? How do you sugar coat a turd?
HOW ON EARTH can ANYONE in their right mind vote for O-BLA-MA for another term? I mean HONESTLY? The only "hope and change" I GOT - was after watching MY construction business close due to illegal aliens coming in from Mexico - I got to "hope" to find another job FOR 6 MONTHS in a totally different industry, and the "change I got is now - I make in two weeks - what I used to make in two days. I "hope" they call me to ask for my vote - I'll give 'em, something else that might change THEIR view!

    Hey people
it's not Obama's fault, remember, it's Bush's fault. Oh wait, 4.5 million jobs added, that's actually a good thing so it must be because of Obama. I forgot Obama takes credit for anything good but everything bad is blamed on someone else. Hey, by the way, speaking of jobs. How many people are not included in the actual unemployment numbers and who are no longer on unemployment and still can't find work...LOTS! The current unemployment number is a lie directly from our President.
