Maricopa County fighting off mosquitoes after rain
Storms around the Valley left standing water prone to mosquitoes, and that has Maricopa County Environmental Services in high gear to combat the insects.
David Guerrieri said the department is setting up 600 traps per week.
"It's a pretty extensive program," he said. "We also have routine site inspections that we set."
Guerrieri said residents can also report swarms of mosquitoes to MCES for a full inspection.
Guerreri said it's important to be aware of pools of water after it rains, as it could be several days until mosquitos become adults and are visible.
